DU Team
Mrs Sue Padmore - Head of Inclusion
Mrs Padmore
Working in Special Needs Education for the last eleven years has been hugely rewarding. Watching as children develop their confidence and understanding has been a privilege. I have worked as a Support for Learning Teacher; Head of the Dyslexia Unit and am now working as the Head of Inclusion. I am responsible for facilitating the progress of children, through reducing the impact of barriers to learning that they are experiencing. My favourite childhood book was and still is ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson. I love the descriptions of Plop learning to fly and his worry that he is not a good lander and might ‘spill himself’.
Dyslexia Unit Teacher
Mrs Gallozzi
After a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature and many years spent working for an airline, I’m very happy about my decision to work in JPS, in particular in Dyslexia Unit. This is the second year in D.U. and my experience is totally positive. I love children and I love to teach them. I love reading and my favorite childhood book is “The Little Prince”. I like it because it has a great sense of love and friendship.
“DU has helped me with writing, reading and spelling.! It is fun because of the Fix games and noughts and crosses…
Dyslexia Unit Teacher
Mrs Mustafa
Having majored in Clinical Psychology for my Master’s, I started my career with lecturing undergraduate students. After moving to Dubai, I joined JPS and discovered my passion for working with children… the feeling of being able to make a difference is simply wonderful! As a child I was a huge fan of Enid Blyton, however, I was happy to read anything that I could find, even a ripped piece of newspaper!
“Just wanted to drop you a line to say how pleased I am with my child’s progress. Her spelling, reading and handwriting have improved so much and so rapidly! Her dad and I are absolutely delighted. She is like a different child from this time last year , just so much more confident and getting her to do her homework is so much less of a chore”.
Mrs Nichola Bell - Head of Dyslexia Unit
Mrs Bell
I have been teaching for 13 years; 9 of them abroad. Predominantly I have worked in FS and KS1. Within my career I have enjoyed the experience of leading in FS and Year 1 and now I am very happy to working in the Dyslexia Unit; in fact it is a professional dream come true! My favourite reading book from my childhood was ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. The brightly coloured pictures captured my imagination whilst I was sticking my finger in the holes in the devoured food !
“I wanted to let you know how grateful I am to the DU for all your help and to thank you for all the progress my son is making, it’s wonderful!”
Dyslexia Unit Teacher
Mrs Haidery
From Hotel Management to Teaching – this has been a wonderful and fulfilling career change for me. I have always loved children and making a positive difference to their lives, gives me a sense of complete satisfaction. I have been teaching for 8 years. As a child I enjoyed reading the adventures of Nancy Drew, solving the gripping and nail biting mysteries.
Listening Programme Co-ordinator
Mrs Samy
After finishing my degree in English literature, I worked 6 years as an executive secretary then followed by another 3 years as an English teacher for KS1 children. Working as a teacher for young children was considered as a huge career change for me, however it made me realize how much I am passionate about working with children. Due to my family commitments, we had to move to Dubai and my children joined JPS. Last year I was lucky to join JPS Dyslexia unit team as the Listening Programme Coordinator. It is wonderful to see the changes in the children before and after joining the program. My favorite childhood book was Cinderella especially the part when the witch turned the pumpkin into a golden carriage and the mice into horses. It was and still my favorite story book.
